We are others-focused! Everything we do is geared toward connecting with those who are far from God and helping them become followers of Jesus Christ! The heartbeat of First Church is to see lives changed by the power of God’s Spirit. We believe that every person has a God-given purpose inside of them. When God’s Spirit moves on us, we move closer to God’s Plan for our lives.
The vision of Vineyard of Grace Mission is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel as people come to know Jesus.
EQUIPPING THE CHURCH
We realized that pastors, staff members, and volunteer leaders sometimes feel inspired but ineffective. We wanted to change that. Our annual Conference, held in October, exists to equip and empower church leaders with practical tools to get the mission of Jesus Christ in motion. Our goal is to share resources, ideas, methods, systems, and processes that build healthy teams and grow healthy churches which in fact will reach the world.
We exist to serve others by showing God’s love in practical ways through meeting the needs within our communities and spheres of influence. Simple acts of personal kindness can open hearts to the love of Jesus for both those being served and those serving. We want every person who is passionate about helping people to find the right opportunities to effectively use their gifts to build up the body of Christ and extend the Kingdom of God.
The following are the core beliefs of Vineyard of Grace Mission based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in these biblical doctrines.
We believe in One eternally existing God who created all things. God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. Jesus Christ is God displayed in flesh. He is both God and man. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, through the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. He was raised from the dead and now by grace offers eternal life as a free gift to all who follow Christ. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
We believe that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is expressed by calling on His Name in the waters of baptism. Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. We are baptized for the remission of our sins.
